Make a foundation row of chains (multiples of 2 + 1).
Add 3 chains to increase height and start the next row.
In the next chain, add a double crochet stitch, a chain and another double crochet stitch. dc-ch-dc in the same chain = v.
Skip one chain and add another V.

Continue adding V shaped stitches till the end. Then end with a double crochet stitch.
Change color and chain 3.
Turn work and add next v stitch in the space between the two double crochets that form the V in the previous row.
