This tutorial shows how you can weave a 3D cube or rolling dice [/die (singular)] using beading. I used size 4 beads and the sides of this cube are about 2.5 inches. If you want a bigger or smaller bead cube/ rolling rice, increase or decrease the size of the beads.
To make this, you have to know the flat right angle weave stitch.
Here is the closeup of the 6 faces in this cube. Each face will have 1 to 6 dots that are called pips.
All the 6 sides of the cube are ready. We can join them now.
You can join them using beads of the same color or a contrasting color if you want a border.
I preferred to use blue beads. Now we are ready to make the 3D shape.
All 8 corners of the cube will have 3 beads that form a triangle as shown below.
Continue joining but leave at least 1 or 2 edges open to enable stuffing.
I did not want to use polyfill fiber as I felt that it might be visible through the gaps between beads. I also felt that it might come out through the gaps.
So I used blue colored yarn. You can stuff this with anything like fabric, cotton etc.
It required more yarn than I had expected so make sure you have enough.
